There was a commission consisting of three men who concluded that the evidence against Caroline was overwhelming. It was quite conclusive in fact. Caroline was in semi-exile from England and something of a crude man-hunter while George IV was secretly married again; a bigamist, and he was very interested in having Caroline disgraced. However politics intervened and the report was buried. Caroline died in August of the following year.
