Denmark introduced a new monetary system in 1813 of which this is an example. These common pieces are usually heavily worn so a nice example like this was one I wanted.
 
The edge is a bit unusual with a line cut into it halfway giving it a striped appearance. Within the central cut there is an additional herringbone recessed below the surface of the edge. I would guess this was a device to prevent people from shaving down the coin and melting the shavings together with those from other coins.
