Carl August was the Duke from 1775 until 1830 (Krause says 1828). In the Répertoire des Monnaies Napoléonides (1971, p. 131) there are three types described. This has the type 1 edge described in the book. The main difference in the first two types is that the 1st type edge has a milled edge instead of plain. The mintage of 72,643 for 1807 includes all of the first two types. The third type was struck only in 1813.
