Vern's Comments:

This is a 42mm white metal example that was crudely pierced. It is the rare white metal variant on the smaller planchet.
Note the incredibly long legend that was "... on continuous scroll around".

   This medal (usually the white metal specimens) often occurs pierced or encircled with a brass ring with a loop for suspension. The smaller size in white metal is often simply pierced. See also note to No. 641.
