Obverse
Obverse:
A friar stands three-quarter left. He has a cross in his right hand and his open left hand is out-stretched.
Legend:
PAYABLE IN BLACK FRIARS LONDON
Size:
28 mm.
Edge:
Plain (not in collar).
Reverse
Reverse:
The arms of the City of London.
Legend:
Motto on a riband, beneath the crest: "DOMINE DIRIGE NOS"

Vern's Comments:

If it weren't for the unfortunate flattening of the friar's face I would have graded this token almost uncirculated. It has beautiful toning not immediately evident in the picture and holds up well to an inspection under a loupe.
